Mission trip to Africa

My Support Letter

Many greetings friends and family,

As many of you know, I am currently working as an information technology consultant with the Drug Enforcement Agency in Washington, DC. I have met many new and exciting people in DC. Ive been keeping very active playing sports and working with the youth at McLean Bible Church. But now I am about to start a new adventure...

I am heading to Africa for 5 months! This is so very exciting. For a long time, I have wanted to go on a missions trip to a country that is in dire need of economic/social help and Christian influence. I cant think of a place that would need more support through spiritual strengthening and western technology. I really want to go over and leave a long-lasting impression of love and hope on people who are stricken with AIDS and other diseases, civil and governmental strife, and poverty. Did you know that over half of Africas population is under 15 years of age? I feel so blessed that God would give me this opportunity to go and minister to them.

So what will I be doing there? I will be working for Africa Inland Mission, an organization dedicated to ministering to the needs of people in Africa. Within that organization I have secured a spot on the Kenya-based AIM-Tech team. We will travel in and around Nairobi, providing aid where needed and collaborating with missionaries and

local pastors on various projects. In the last year, the AIM-Tech team has engineered water facilities, built churches and constructed computer labs. The pictures below show one such computer lab that was built from storage containers. These labs contain 10-12 computers, running on solar power. They are set up in villages to expose school children to technology and resources not normally found in rural areas. Isnt it amazing what we can do with technology now! Our ultimate goal, however, is to spread the Gospel to these people.

This is a great opportunity for me to give something to the less fortunate, in the form of my skills and knowledge. I feel that God has laid it on my heart to make an impact on these peoples lives. I would like to extend to you an invitation to join me on my support team. My goal is to raise $10,000 in support by the end of this year. To do so, I am trying to get 100 people to support me with $100 or more. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially? The accompanying page provides more details. I also request that you would pray for me and the rest of the AIM-Tech team. Please pray for health, safety and that we will be effective witnesses.

Thank you for your consideration. Please let me know how I can pray for you as well!

God Bless, Chris Holet

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.
